For this reason, we encourage customers to try multiple head joints and we allow up to one year to exchange the head joint when purchasing a Keefe piccolo. Head joints are available in a variety of styles including: TRADITIONAL  Provides a rich, dark and focused sound. MODERN  The sharper blowing edge provides a quicker response and a dark sound. CLASSIC  The larger embouchure hole produces more resistance and the darkest sound. CUSTOM We are pleased to work with players to make head joints to other specifications when the designs we normally offer do not meet their needs.
